Tatanne Bazaar and Celtic Sustainables are teaming up to offer a beginners furniture painting workshop on Saturday 19th September from 10 am til “done”, for 4 to 10 participants.
In the workshop you will learn how to get the real aged, distressed look, brush stroke techniques, dry brushing and ageing etc and also stencilling if we have the time.
It will be held at Celtic Sustainables in Cardigan where you can purchase all you need for your project from brushes to organic paints, Earthborn, Auro, Osmo, as well as Farrow and Ball. Celtic Sustainables are offering a free finish coat of either organic oil or wax and, even more important, free tea, coffee and biscuits.
You will need to bring a smallish piece of furniture that you are itching to up-cycle, old clothes that don’t mind paint, gloves if you want them and a packed lunch. If you have a hair dryer that can face leaving the security of your home it might be useful if the weather is wet to speed up drying. We are working inside but humid conditions slow down this process.
If you do not have a piece to paint up, Jen from Tatanne Bazaar can most likely source you something if she has enough warning!
It costs £60 for the day.
Celtic Sustainables have all the materials and one of their tester pots is usually enough for a small piece such as a bedside cabinet , chair etc… They have a limited number of Earthborn claypaint tester pots that you can purchase on the day for £2.50 (RRP £3.50). You can also choose your brushes and other paints at a 10% discount on the day.
If you are interested or need more information you can contact Jennie at Tatanne Bazaar or Morag at Celtic Sustainables!
